BWs Bargainz purchases large amounts of flooring by the pallet. They were manually calculating the price of each pallet compared to Home Depot’s prices in order to purchase the pallets at a low price. BWs Bargainz contacted Full Spectrum IT to help automate this pricing process. They were losing hours of time trying to ensure they purchased flooring at the right price. First, FSIT identified the need to quickly capture information on flooring that was in each pallet. Barcode scanning fit the need and Home Depot’s (HD) App has a native barcode scanner. Building a custom list in the HD app, by barcode scanning the UPC codes on the flooring, enabled rapid data collection. FSIT then built an API that extracts XML data from the HD custom list and automatically calculates crucial information. The API produces the price of flooring, the amount per pallet, what HD’s prices are and what price BWs should purchase the flooring to maximize profits. The best part is all of this information is produced in less then 60 seconds after scanning all flooring UPCs on the pallets.
